I have waited a long time to post because I was trying to find the appropriate thing to say...and I still haven't. I'm just to the point where I'm going to start complaing and anyone can join me....and I might have an occasional story...here goes.......
This latest social security reform is not making me happy for a couple of reasons.
1) I'm not sure that I am yet sold on the dependability of the market as a means of investment for my retirement funds, and if I was, then I'd use my disposable income to invest and leave the rest in the fund to be protected from the irrational nature of the market.
2) I would bet that of the few individual funds that you will be able to invest your money into, most of them will either be inflated by the government or purchased by the government as protection of the fund...that would be the only reason these funds subsist. Think about it logically, if a stock gets rushed by millions of people, what will be the need for resistance from the market...there won't be any. And I contend that the market needs resistance to create demand. So if there is no demand an no resistance, the stock becomes a used condom...weak and full of risk.
3) I think that often times the risk factor for the collapse of social security is inflated as well. Is the system in pain...yes, but it's perpetually in pain, it's a damn welfare system. But, the system can sustain itself for much longer than the cabinet is projecting. It's simple mathematics really, if the system is dependant upon investment and we are forced to invest...then the system sustains itself.
4) I'm really stressed out about the lack of structures dissent from the democratic party. We're losing the government, quit running around like chickens with your damn heads cut off and start producing some stalemates...fuck the election, filibuster something you damn senators, win a vote in the house you idiots...DO SOMETHING!
That's all I've got for now...I'll be back later. |
