So here's the latest and greatest on political pundits.

As I've been researching for my Congress class, I have noticed that there are often comparisons in voting record and in staying power. Here's what I mean. There is almost a direct correlation between the vote of one member of a party and how long that member lasts in congress. For example, if a republican in New York dissents from his party on a major issue, then there is a fantastic possibility that the same republican will not return to his position in the future. And the same goes for the democrats. And that's the problem. There is so much partisan discourse in Washington, that to express an individual opinion is to blaspheme. Why? Why is there no room for personal discourse or individual rhetoric in a congress of representation. For years political scientists have noted the dual nature of our congress. That, while a national body, congress individuals are locally elected. So, when it comes time for local representation, it only goes as far as the national body will allow it. It's oppression, it's coercion, and it's destructive. The last time government officials were forced to act in a certain manner absent the support of constituents the government played threat construction with weapons of mass destruction and destroyed a country and our credibility. Perhaps, rather than keeping a short leash on party members, we should be keeping a shorter leash on our president. After all, partisan politics stop at the president. But where he stops, nobody knows...

I have waited a long time to post because I was trying to find the appropriate thing to say...and I still haven't. I'm just to the point where I'm going to start complaing and anyone can join me....and I might have an occasional story...here goes.......

This latest social security reform is not making me happy for a couple of reasons.

1) I'm not sure that I am yet sold on the dependability of the market as a means of investment for my retirement funds, and if I was, then I'd use my disposable income to invest and leave the rest in the fund to be protected from the irrational nature of the market.

2) I would bet that of the few individual funds that you will be able to invest your money into, most of them will either be inflated by the government or purchased by the government as protection of the fund...that would be the only reason these funds subsist. Think about it logically, if a stock gets rushed by millions of people, what will be the need for resistance from the market...there won't be any. And I contend that the market needs resistance to create demand. So if there is no demand an no resistance, the stock becomes a used condom...weak and full of risk.

3) I think that often times the risk factor for the collapse of social security is inflated as well. Is the system in pain...yes, but it's perpetually in pain, it's a damn welfare system. But, the system can sustain itself for much longer than the cabinet is projecting. It's simple mathematics really, if the system is dependant upon investment and we are forced to invest...then the system sustains itself.

4) I'm really stressed out about the lack of structures dissent from the democratic party. We're losing the government, quit running around like chickens with your damn heads cut off and start producing some stalemates...fuck the election, filibuster something you damn senators, win a vote in the house you idiots...DO SOMETHING!

That's all I've got for now...I'll be back later.

BAD DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tuesday, January 18, 2005

I raise my glass to the cat rockin the huge dome. Integrity, as does the wind, comes and goes. As such, I think it is only fair to create a word to represent those who display a consistent amount of integrity. And so, after much thought and careful consideration I have discovered the word...integretious. Yes, integretious. End.

While wasting away amongst the low and vile of such a foul community I stumbled to find solace...sadly, I was in Springfield. I speak not of the nature nor of the common, but instead I speak to the whores and harlots of a benign cancer. Sweet sings the song of canaries as a whale finds prunes along the shore. And I, I ask for the words to play the games of children while reaping the rewards of kings, as goes life and the acorn tree. So says the octupus to the starfish...hey can YOU give me hand? So I ask, who will give ME a  hand?
